So, here's my 1 large project. Oh, I'm calling it my "lucky collar", because at almost the 1/2 way point, there's one clover with 4 leaves. Purely accidental, but I'd done so much retro-tatting (retro-tatting = undoing stitches) by that time, I just decided to leave it. The pattern is from Lynn Morton's Tatting Patterns, & it's done in sz 30 thread.

The Lucky Collar
This was my first large tatting project. Large projects since this one have been, well, disasters. I keep trying to start a doily pattern from Visual Patterns, & after 3 failed attempts, I guess I'll try it again this week-end.

That is a beautiful collar! I guess I'll have to pull that book off the shelf and look at it again!
Beautiful all right! Congrats!
Fox : )
Congratulations!! The collar looks great!! Will you show a picture of the outfit the collar is going to be placed on?
Thanks everyone! Carol, I made it to go on a Civil War era jacket for when I do period re-creations. Next time I have it out, I'll try to remember to take a pic & post it.
Thanks Katie, I'd love to see the collar on the Civil War era jacket. I bet it looks fantastic!!
This is quite lovely! I'll bet it looks nice on the jacket you mentioned above.
Impressive, and indeed lucky! You should try tatting something smallish in HDT for pure pleasure, to erase the failed attempts from your mind. (It always works for me...a wee bit of HDT tatting is a cure-all -- like chicken soup!) LOL!
