Antique Mall Find

We went to the antique mall yesterday. I always look for tatting shuttles while I'm there, & always come away disappointed. Not yesterday!! I scored this little beauty. It needs some work as the ends are separted, but other than some scotch tape adhesive, it's in excellent condition! It's a lovely beige on brown pearlescent celluloid shuttle circa 1920.

Thats exactly what I do when in antique shops, look for shuttles. Then I ask if they have one and even after trying to explain what they look like the blank expression says it all! What a joy to find one - congratulations!

What a beautiful shuttle! You found a great find! I don't think I've ever found a wooden shuttle at an antique mall...just old plastic ones, celluloid ones and once in a while a stainless steel one that had embellishments on it.

Oh, I guess in the body of your post you say it's a celluloid one. It's very different looking than the celluloid ones I've found. Very nice. From just looking at the photo I thought it was wooden. LOL!
